Cleaning up My Space Some More
Jun. 16th, 2014 08:04 pmI'm finally putting my winter stuff away for the season. It includes a warm, fluffy down coat for days when I'm walking, a lightly insulated fall jacket for chilly days on the bike, a toasty warm ski jacket with powder skirt and pit zips for the really cold days, and a nice heavy flannel too. All of that came from thrift stores, except for the flannel, which a coworker gave me because it didn't fit. Also from thrift stores are my ear-warmers and balaclava. I have tons of layering options for a range of conditions. It's all going to go in a big plastic tub that I snagged off the curb and emptied the strings of old Christmas lights out of. I love being a scrounger. It can be slow finding what you need, but it really pays off in the long run.
On a bike-related tangent, here's my new helmet! Thanks to Lisa Hunter for the sticker, which I sadly did not have prior to the ride this past weekend. I want a second one for the other side. I think maybe an Invisible Pink Unicorn sticker too, which would make me think of another Lisa I knew. I've also added a few other stickers since this photo; some that came with my Monkeylectric bar, and a few from a package of "'60s Stickers" I had in my drawer; a couple small peace signs and flowers. I'm going to be colorful!
