Going through the closet!
Jun. 17th, 2014 11:13 pmI spent some of this evening cleaning out my closet and looking for clothes to wear to my meetings at Penn State. It's so nice having my own full-length mirror up here! It motivates me again to try to learn something about how to pick nicely-fitting shirts and how to coordinate outfits. I wish I knew some people whose brains I could pack about various kinds of men's fashion. I'm really a total noob when it comes to trying to use my clothes to consciously make a statement about myself, and I feel that it would be a really useful skill to acquire.
I think I have a shirt and pants that will do, though I want to start looking for some more less casual pieces at thrift stores. I'm getting rid of about 75% of what was in there as it's just too big. I did get to a couple pieces that seemed not only to fit me surprisingly well, but seemed rather nicer than most of what I've picked up at the thrifts. Then I got to a suit-jacket that I knew was nicer than anything I'd bought at the thrifts and realized that I was looking at the stuff that my brother wears to court and that he was hanging in my little detached closet because he doesn't have his own here. Oops!
His clothes fit me oddly well.
I'm going to get to bed early tonight and try to get something resembling 8 hours of sleep, rather than my usual 6 or 7. G'night!
