stormdogThe full-size garbage plate at Franks Diner in Kenosha Wisconsin. Made with five eggs, hashbrowns, green pepper, onions, and your choice of up to five meats and five cheeses. Woof; that was a lot of food! I think I'm set for breakfast, lunch, and a little of dinner!
The diner has been open since 1926. It was built to resemble a railroad dining car. The owner has a bunch of local photos and history stuff up on the walls, including the naturalization papers for the original owner of the diner, which are in our collection at the Parkside archives!
Breakfast today for the archivist and I was on the owner for our work in researching the opening day of the diner in 1926. He's a super-nice guy, and the atmosphere in the diner is wonderfully casual and friendly. I feel a bit embarrassed that I, as a Kenosha citizen, had never been in the establishment before. I want to take some people there with me!
