"Pike Creek...is filled with putrefying substances causing an unbearable stench and filling the air with obnoxious odors and germs calculated to breed pestilence and disease." And later, "...the people living in its vicinity are liable to be at any time stricken with fatal diseases."
Ah, for the days of deregulated industry. The government should just get out of our business, right?

Sorry for being kind of MIA. I have a ton of work to do, and I'm stressing about the fact that I have a limited amount of time to do stuff with my family and friends here before I move. I don't want all of the rest of my semester filled up with school work and presentations.
I'm going to try really hard to get my posters done this week, and then most of my papers and projects done over my Spring break (that's next week) so that I can relax a bit and try to be social. I'm trying to keep up with folks here, but I may not be terribly good at it for a bit.
