I've been regularly forgetting to turn the oven off after cooking stuff for months. Miriam keeps noticing the click it makes when cycling and tells me, and I don't understand why that click doesn't register in my brain when I hear so many other little sounds that she doesn't. I just tune it out for some reason.
Today, I forgot to turn a stove burner off after making something. I even closed the plastic safety latch over the knob, but didn't turn it off. And now I feel afraid to even use the stove because I just can't seem to remember to turn the damn thing off, and the burner elements are way more likely to cause a fire than the oven is when left on.

I feel like I need to start putting signs up around every source of danger in the house to remind myself of the things I need to do to do them safely and it makes me feel like there's something really wrong with my brain. I don't know why I'm like this and it's scary. I kind of had a breakdown this morning because of it.

Anyway, I have a long catch-up entry I'm working on that I'll post when I'm finished.
