This is the front porch of my house after spending a few hours cleaning and reorganizing. There's a big old wardrobe that belongs to my parents out here that used to sit just in front of the windows on the left. Now it's on the wall to the rear from this perspective. There's a much larger, unbroken space usable for bikes.
We have my youngest brother's bike, my two in the middle, then my other brother's on the right. Lastly, my unicycle is there on the far right. I've become a bit concerned about leaving all these bikes on the porch all the time, so we're going to start locking them all together with a cable lock at least.
But regardless, it's nice to have this space a bit more usable. Since this is not my house, I try to let most of the space outside my own room be under the control of my parents to avoid stress. Otherwise, the continual mess everywhere would make me crazy. But the limited space on the porch became more of a stressor than the spending the time and effort to move the unnecessary stuff into the basement and collect all the recycling and garbage. I'm hoping the rest of the stuff on the wall to the right can go soon too..

I've just about given up on the Nexride saddle for now. I've ridden about 80 miles on it, and I've finally got it adjusted to what I'd describe as adequately comfortable. But I just can't make it feel *good*, and I'm getting to the point where I feel disappointed every time I know I'm going to get on my bike and ride. If I'd almost rather not ride at all, then it's not a good solution for me. So I'm going to send it back and, instead, use the refund to go to a bike shop and get fitted for a nice saddle by someone who really knows what they're doing.
Figuring out what size saddle I need is tricky! I spent some of last night pressing my posterior into various substances, trying to follow some guides on how to measure the distance between my sit bones. My results varied significantly and I don't trust them. Dealers, it seems, have a device colloquially referred to as the "ass-o-meter" that they can use to determine proper saddle width. I'm going to go down that route and see how it goes. I'm also going to adjust the saddle I'm using for the moment with a conscious eye toward settling myself properly on it.
And if none of that works, I may end up selling the bikes I have and saving up for a recumbent.
